Pet Bereavement Support Organisations
Many people do not realize how traumatic and confusing death can be on a child. Although children tend to grieve for shorter periods of time, their grief is no less intense than that experienced by adults. Children also tend to comeback to the subject repeatedly; so extreme patience is required when dealing with the grieving child.
Download the workbook “I Miss My Pet: A workbook for children about pet loss” by Katie Nurmi©. This let’s children work through the loss of a pet by teaching the child that their feelings are important and respected.

Box Breath for Grief
Breathwork is proven to reduce stress and anxiety, so we're sharing a simple breathing technique to follow or share with anyone that may be struggling to unwind currently. 1. Following the top side of the box, breathe in slowly through your nose for a count of four. 2. As you follow down one side of the box, hold your breath for a count of four. 3. Following the bottom side, breathe out slowly for a count of four, releasing all the air from your lungs. 4. Going up the other side of the box, hold your breath for a count of four. If 4 seconds feels too long or too short, you can adjust your count to suit. Repeat as many times as you need.
