At Dignity, we believe the most compassionate pet aftercare starts long before a pet reaches our grounds. It begins with the loving hands and hearts of the veterinary teams we work alongside—those who know your pets, understand their quirks, and guide families through life’s most tender moments.
This month, we’re shining a light on one of our trusted partners: Lynton Vet Group – Spinney Hill, Addlestone, and the lovely Nicola Howe, who’s been at the heart of their client care team for the past eight years.
A Warm Welcome for Every Pet
Nicola is based at the Addlestone branch, part of the long-standing Lynton Vet Group which has been caring for pets in Surrey for over 42 years. She describes the Addlestone team as small but mighty, united by a shared dedication to making every visit a positive experience for pets and their people.
That ethos is clear in everything they do—especially when it comes to end-of-life care.
“From the very first phone call to the appointment itself, we make sure each step is filled with love, empathy and dignity,” Nicola says. “The chocolate treats even come out especially for those appointments.”
For those difficult moments, the Addlestone team also ensures thoughtful aftercare, arranging cremations, and taking paw and nose prints as keepsakes for grieving families.
More Than Just a Vet Visit
The Addlestone practice offers a full range of services, from health checks and vaccinations to neutering, minor surgeries, and nurse-led clinics for things like weight management and nail trims. But what makes this team truly special is their approachability and warmth.
Across the three Lynton sites, there’s a shared goal: make pets feel so comfortable that they actually want to come in.
“Nine out of ten dogs drag their owners through the door,” Nicola laughs.
It’s not hard to see why. Nicola herself has a soft spot for the more nervous patients.
“Winning them over and seeing their confidence grow is the most rewarding part of my job.”
A Cheeky Lunch Thief Named Elfie
And of course, what would a vet practice be without a few four-legged team members of their own? Nicola fondly recalls Elfie, a rescue lurcher who belonged to one of their colleagues.
“We were in the middle of a staff meeting with lunch delivered—sandwiches and all. While our backs were turned, Elfie stood up at the desk, helped herself to a mouthful of sandwiches, and looked very pleased with herself!”
We love hearing stories like these—it reminds us that veterinary practices are more than just clinical spaces. They’re full of heart, humour, and care, just like the families and pets they support.
