We know that end-of-life care doesn’t always happen within four walls. Sometimes, the most peaceful goodbyes take place in the comfort of home. But guided by the calm presence of a trusted vet. That’s why we’re proud to work with veterinary professionals who go above and beyond to support families—wherever they are.
We’re honoured to spotlight VetMobile UK. A unique mobile veterinary service based in West Berkshire, led by experienced vet and practice owner Christel.
A Different Kind of Veterinary Practice
VetMobile UK isn’t your typical practice—and that’s what makes it so special. Since opening in January 2021, Christel and her assistant Sarah have brought veterinary care directly to the homes of families across the area. Working from a fully equipped consultation van or at their weekly pop-up clinics, they provide much of what a traditional bricks-and-mortar practice does—minus surgery and hospitalisation.
From routine healthcare and blood tests, to ultrasound, acupuncture, and gentle support for anxious pets, VetMobile offers a broad range of services in a more personal, unhurried way.
“We build in plenty of time for every visit,” says Christel. “No one should feel rushed, especially when pets are unwell or when difficult decisions need to be made.”
End-of-Life Care with Time and Tenderness
One of the most valued aspects of VetMobile’s service is their at-home end-of-life care. For pets who are ready to pass, Christel offers calm, compassionate support in familiar surroundings—free from the stress of a clinic.
Her long-standing connection with Dignity (spanning over 22 years) means families can be assured that their pet’s aftercare is handled with the utmost respect.
“We aim to complement the work of local vet practices,” Christel explains. “But when it comes to end-of-life care, we’re here to offer something more peaceful and private.”
A Vet with a View
Working in nature is one of Christel’s favourite parts of the job.
“Being outdoors and seeing the seasons change is a real privilege,” she says.
It’s a beautiful reminder that veterinary care doesn’t have to be clinical or cold. It can be thoughtful, natural, and deeply connected to the needs of both pets and the people who love them.
