Back in February, we found out that Dignity Owner, Kevin Spurgeon, had been chosen as a finalist for the Animal Star Awards, on behalf of Dignity. The news came with much excitement to the team and our customers when we announced it across social media!
The Animal Star Awards gives recognition to animals and humans alike for the extraordinary things they do. The judges are industry experts in their field with the lead judge being CEO of The Badger Trust and well-known animal campaigner Dominic Dyer.
Kevin said “This news has come as a welcome morale boost to myself and the team. I’m so lucky to have such a dedicated group of people who have been working tirelessly throughout the pandemic and it has been really hard at times. Although my name has been put forward, I couldn’t do it without the Dignity Team and every single one of them make a positive difference to people after the loss of their pet. We just want to make their experience a comforting and loving one that gives owners peace of mind and helps them in their grieving process.”
A virtual awards ceremony was held on the evening of Sunday 28th March where the winners were announced. There were also some celebrity guest appearances and special performances from entertainers including Rachael Hawnt (BBC One All Together Now finalist), Max with Gordon the monkey and The Fabulous Miss G.
A huge thank you to Mary Burgess for putting so much hard work into awards ceremony, we had a fantastic evening!
We recently received our Highly Commended Certificate which is pictured below.
