Ollie had been a member of our family for nearly 21 years before he became poorly. Sadly, he was put to rest and we chose Dignity to care for him. We have always used their services since our first cat passed away in 2002 and Dignity was recommended to us by a friend. Our eldest daughter now works there due to us losing a guinea pig and Emma cheekily asked if there were any vacancies.
Elsa was the main carer for Ollie and they idolised each other. Elsa has additional needs and we believe that Ollie knew or sensed this. They were companions for life. He liked cheese, cream and most of all prawns, and knew when Elsa had them from shopping.
All memories are special and especially when he knew Elsa was poorly as he would snuggle up to her. He was not a lap cat usually. We took him to Dignity ourselves and the team were fab and understanding of Elsa and her needs. They gave her time to deal with all that was involved in leaving him in their care and explained every step too.
Emma bought him home and we have a black cat urn and Elsa has a sapphire paw print necklace with ashes in it. Dignity kept us informed at all times of the process involved.
