Bertie aka Powerscourt Talyn was a show Cocker Spaniel and was a lovely cheeky chap and brother to my daughter Daisy who was six years old when he arrived full steam to the family. Bert’s life was food, his home and family. Bert made the house a home; fun, loving, loyal and always ready to join in until the last. I used Dignity Pet Crematorium when we lost our beloved Bertie cocker after a short battle with lymphoma at the vets.
The vet gave us a Dignity brochure and I called them that evening; it was the worst day of my life. I was very lucky when a member of the Dignity team called me back at 8am on New Year’s Eve, which was the following morning after my first horrendous night without him. Even with the early close and bank holiday looming, the lady arranged to squeeze us in for a same day cremation and collection. We collected Bertie back from the vets and took him to Dignity. We chose to have a paw imprint and paw print mould and collected Bertie’s ashes in an engraved solid oak casket all on the same half working day. A saviour on the worst day of my life. The Dignity team were understanding, helpful and most of all, nothing was too much trouble and whatever I needed they could do.
