Letting go of my boy and best friend was the hardest decision of my life. We had Sox since he was born and he immediately latched onto me, solidifying what would become a close bond, not like any other I’ve had before. I’ve had some great and lovely memories with Sox, with all his antics over the years, those of which have been imprinted on my heart for eternity and not to mention how fluffy he was! So, when the time came to make the decision that no pet owner would ever want to make, I ultimately decided to do the best and kindest thing for him.
Instead of risking a “no guarantee for a cure” treatment, I allowed for Sox to cross the rainbow bridge, bidding a heart-breaking farewell to my best friend, who had always been there for me through the darkest and most difficult times in my life. When the time came to say that final goodbye, I always knew that I wanted Sox to come back home with me, and Dignity was my first and best choice. I was given various options on the day he passed and a mass cremation was never on the agenda at all. Dignity provided me with the assurance of the individual cremation that I wanted so that Sox could instead return home.
The staff at Dignity were very kind, caring, compassionate and understanding. It was such a heartbreaking thing for any pet owner to have to do but I had 100% confidence in Dignity to fulfil my wishes and have Sox back at home with me, where he belongs. If/when the time comes should I require them again, I’d be completely confident in doing so. I am so glad I was able to say goodbye to Sox, and so very relieved to have him back home where he belongs.
