We heard about Dignity through a friend who has used them for years, so our choice was always to go with the best and kindest way to say goodbye to our beloved west highland terriers. Millie was 14 years old and Max was 3 weeks off of 15 years old when he passed away. I wanted the best for my pets and therefore I wanted them individually cared for at the end. They gave me such pleasure during their time here and they meant so much to my partner and I.
Millie was a westie who sadly I chose to put to sleep after dementia had been with her for the last two years of her life. Millie was her dad’s little girl; a real character. She loved to play with toys and kept our other two boys in order. She was the boss! When she passed away, Dignity were there. The process, although difficult for us, was made easier by the caring and sympathetic staff at Dignity. Correspondence was great and I was given time to choose my options with no rush, which for some people is what they need. They picked her up on her own and transported her to the beautiful Dignity Pet Crematorium. Her cremation took place and her ashes were returned to me in a beautiful urn which we had chosen; every step of the journey was caring and everyone was so lovely. We chose to have a paw print mould and the teardrop urn in white with silver paw prints on. We also chose a 3D light impression which we light up often.
This meant that when we lost our second westie, Max, there was no doubt where we would choose to have him cared for and returned to us. This was the exact same process and care, so we would now never choose anywhere else for our pets to be remembered and cremated at the end. Max was a gentle little boy who was our wedding present to each other. He loved cuddles and snuggling in under the duvet at night. He was so gentle and all our friends would always ask how Max was first. For Max, we again chose a paw print mould and we had the westie urn; it sits where he used to sit in our lounge.
We chose the two day service for both our pets which included collecting both Millie and Max from our vets and transporting them to Dignity, their individual cremations and then returning their ashes to us at home which was excellent. We found the whole process excellent from the caring way in which our call was dealt with, to the time to make the choices we needed to and the drivers for the chats when they returned the ashes.
Dignity were so professional and sympathetic to our needs as a client. Thank you once again Dignity for your caring and sympathetic staff.
