We’re pleased to announce that for the first quarter of 2022, our charity wishing well and client donations combined have raised a total of: £250!
Every quarter we split the total between our supported Charites. However this time we are conscious of events happening across the globe and have decided to share the total across two charities who have been supporting animals and families in need through the Crisis in Ukraine.
The Charities for First Quarter are Dogs n Homes & The Humane Society.
We are also continuing to collect for Dogs n Homes Ukraine mission by collecting funds through their collection tins which can be found in our farewell rooms onsite.
“We are genuinely thankful to all the clients and friends of Dignity that have been so generous in this campaign and we will be putting these monies to very good use in helping companion animals and people of Ukraine that have been so horrendously affected by this conflict.
We will continue our efforts as long as this war continues and hope that when it ends, we can also offer our help to any families and their pets, that may wish to return to their country when it is safe to do so.” – Gary Baxter Dogsnhomes
The Humane Society have also played a key part in supplying aid and organising the “Vets for Ukrainian Pets” program which covers the treatment costs for acute care and medication, rabies and other vaccinations as well as microchipping and medical examination required for safe passage through the EU.
“In Ukraine we have provided emergency financial aid to a Ukrainian animal protection group called UAnimals to help shelters, veterinary clinics, rescues and zoos within Ukraine engaged in helping animals stuck there. In Germany, HSI has teamed up with Berliner Tiertafel to help refugees who arrive with their animals. With your support, these desperate people are receiving food and supplies for their pets, pet beds and vouchers for veterinary services from a network of 40 participating veterinarians in the city. In Trieste in Italy, as refugees arrive there, HSI is also responding, providing food and supplies for dogs and cats who arrive at the reception center of Caritas, and coordinating with the Friulian-Ukrainian Cultural Organization and a local customs brokerage company to deliver and distribute hundreds of kilos of pet food and supplies. HSI teams are also sending hundreds of kilos of pet supplies into Ukraine to reach shelters, rescues, vet clinics and families remaining in the country.
In Romania, HSI and the Romanian Red Cross are working together to get large consignments of emergency pet food provided by HSI into Ukraine via their humanitarian convoy. HSI is also working with local Romanian organizations to support them in offering free pet food and veterinary care as well as border assistance for refugees travelling with pets. We are also engaging with fellow animal organizations in Poland to see how best we can support them as they assist refugees arriving from Ukraine with their pets. Thank you for your generosity and helping us provide urgent aid and rescue to animals in Ukraine.” -Lily Baker Humane Society UK
