This year we are celebrating 30 years of helping families and we held a ball at Farnham Castle in September as part of our celebrations! Members of the Dignity team, veterinary staff from all over the South and suppliers we work with got suited and booted for this black-tie evening event and came together to celebrate our incredible milestone. They were greeted not only with canapés and fizz but with the sparkling surprise of ‘Mirror Men’ who posed for photos with the guests and got on the dancefloor later in the night. Kevin Spurgeon, Owner of Dignity Pet Crematorium, made a speech where he talked through the history of the business and how it all started with his parents, Barry and Carole Spurgeon, wanting to create a dignified send-off for pets in 1992. Guests headed to the dancefloor as the band ‘Smiley’s Heroes’ played a fantastic set, followed by a DJ and more dancing. Two of the band members are part of the Dignity team which made the atmosphere even more spectacular!
Kevin, the Owner of Dignity, said “What a wonderful evening in an impressive venue to mark the 30th Anniversary of us helping local families through our service. Celebrating with the veterinary teams who work alongside us to help people after their loss made the ball extra special. The dedication shown by the nurses, vets, and support staff – especially during Covid – has been inspirational to me and it was only right for them to let their hair down and enjoy themselves!”
He also added “In a nutshell, I am passionate about helping families. I believe this starts with transparency that leads to families being able to make an informed decision both leading up to and following the loss of their pet. This has been our purpose since my parents started Dignity 30 years ago. I now have over 20 years’ experience and have seen many changes in both the veterinary industry and in pet cremation during that time. Developing and refining Dignity’s service over the years has been the key to our continued success and I am proud we have picked up several awards on the way. I have learned to listen more and challenge myself to be a better leader – bringing in a clear vision and values to focus us in the right direction.”
